ELECTRA WOMAN & DYNA GIRL IN THE WORLD OF SUOMALAISET UUDET KASINOT
Electra Woman and Dyna Girl in the world of Suomalaiset Kasinot put a new spin on the cult series of the same name that was briefly seen on television in the 1970s as part of ‘The Krofft Supershow’ (after one season of sixteen episodes the plug was pulled on the project). The story revolves around the crime-fighting (super)heroines Electra Woman and Dyna Girl, a duo who, adorned in homemade superhero outfits, have set themselves the goal of ridding their own hometown of aggressive gamblers and other criminal scum in Akron, Ohio.
New World of Uudet Kasinot For Elektra and Dyna
Having conquered the world of Suomalaiset, it was time to move up a level. So the exciting Uudet Nettikasinot world was a natural extension of the story of these two superhero characters. As is always the case in hero stories, the aim was to complete various missions and move the story forward. The elements familiar from platform games were in full force in this eager and brave duo’s journey.
After a series of imaginative rescue missions, Elektra and Dyna made it to the boss’s lair. Here they faced a series of challenges amidst the fireflies and lava. The final solution to the battle was found when Elektra managed to break through the walls of the aquariums built into the cliff surface of the lair. Huge amounts of water flooded into the floors of the lair from the aquariums, extinguishing the fire and cooling the lava. After that, the boss had no further chance. The Uudet Nettikasinot world had been conquered, and now it was time to move to the next level.
Journey Continued To California
Seeking more recognition for their work, Electra Woman and Dyna Girl eventually decide to move to Los Angeles to monetize their superhero status in the world of show business and commerce. But the superhero landscape in the California metropolis proves to be quite overcrowded. Before long, the two heroines begin to have disagreements and their partnership threatens to fall apart.
Electra Woman and Dyna Girl is certainly not a conventional superhero film, but rather a light-hearted parody of the genre that stylistically leans unmistakably towards films like the better and yet more serious Kick-Ass.
The main protagonists are played by the YouTube stars Hannah Hart and Grace Helbig, two actresses who, despite their still limited experience in the feature film genre, certainly don’t look out of place. Although the first part of “Electra Woman and Dyna Girl” is slow and often gets bogged down in endless and not very entertaining dialogues, the film gains some momentum and entertainment value after half an hour or so.
In addition to various persiflages on the superhero genre, the makers of Electra Woman and Dyna Girl also make fun of the shininess in the showbiz and advertising world. The superheroes in this film lead the same life as a modern movie and pop stars, surrounded by slick managers and constantly angling for and competing with each other for lucrative sponsorship deals and advertising appearances. On the positive side, the film never takes itself too seriously and has a fairly lighthearted character.
Electra Woman and Dyna Girl is certainly not a particularly original or particularly good film, but after a somewhat uninspired opening phase, it is fun and sharp enough for a portion of unpretentious entertainment and a tentative laugh.
